We need your help - KESAB Application 2017

Are you a recycler, school, business or community group in Berri that has undertaken a project or initiative over the past two years or have one in the planning stages? We need your help for an entry for Berri into the 2017 KESAB Sustainable Communities program following Barmera’s success in the program over the past few years. Involvement would include some discussion and a short paragraph /photos on your project or initiative. Please contact Jesse Lang, Executive Assistant on 85821 922 for further information.

Project ICE Riverland

Project ICE Riverland will be holding a FREE community forum in the Berri Town Hall on Sunday September 24th from 5.00pm to 7.30pm. The Forum will explore potential solutions for the ongoing drug and alcohol issues within the Riverland.

Dementia Awareness Month

5 September 2017
Berri Barmera Council introduced a Dementia Friendly Community Plan last year. A key aspect of this was Council gaining a deeper understanding of Dementia and what we are doing or could do to help sufferers. Hence, we welcome ideas at any time on what people might need from Council that could make life a bit easier if you or someone you care for is living with Dementia.

Funding success for the proposed Berri Riverfront Wharf project

7 July 2017
The Minister for Transport and Infrastructure, Hon Stephen Mullighan MP recently announced that the Berri Barmera Council’s proposed Berri Riverfront Wharf has been successful in securing nearly $600,000 in funding for the $1.199M project.

Road Works - 5 July 2017 Crawford Terrace

3 July 2017
Stormwater works will be commencing on Crawford Terrace, Berri on Wednesday 5th July 2017. The project is estimated to take approximately four working days to complete. During this time there will be minor disruptions to those who travel up Crawford Terrace to Bookpurnong round about. Traffic wishing to exit Berri via Crawford Terrace, will need to find an alternate route (ie via Vaughan Tce). Traffic from the roundabout on Crawford Terrace coming into Berri will be able to continue as normal. If you have any queries, please contact Council on 8582 1922

Mayor Peter Hunt on behalf of the Berri Barmera Council invites the Community of Barmera to a Community Morning tea, this coming Thursday 29th June 2017, to celebrate Barmera's success in the 2017 Keep Australia Beautiful Tidy Town Awards.

Increase in Fines under Dog and Cat Management Act

Hard Waste Collection 2017

19 April 2017
The Berri Barmera Council is partnering with Diabetes SA for its FINAL collection in the area for donations and are asking you to get behind them with the “Blue Bag” collection on 26 and 27 April. Other hard waste collection from residential properties in Berri, Barmera, Cobdogla, Glossop, Loveday and Monash will be undertaken in May. To ensure you understand what is required, please read through the attached brochure. Out of town residents have been given the opportunity to take part, by being able to take one free 6x4 trailer load (approx. 2 cubic metres) of items to the Transpacific Waste Transfer station, Berri, from Saturday 29th April until Sunday 14th May. The items in this load can be a combination of the items listed on the brochure.

SA Regional Tourism Summit

The Riverland will be playing host to this year’s SA Accredited Visitor Information Centre State Conference, which will for the first time ever include the SA Regional Tourism Summit from May 16-18. The Summit is jam packed with interesting tours, breakfasts and dinners. The general public are welcome to attend some of these events.
