2014 Council Elections

Congratulations to Mayor Peter Hunt who has been provisionally elected unopposed as Mayor. Council has received 11 nominations for the eight positions of area councillor. Elections will be conducted by postal voting. The 11 candidates (in ballot order) are: 1. Linc Gore 2. Andrew Kassebaum 3. David Waterman 4. Trevor Scott 5. Tom Towle 6. Mike Fuller 7. Margaret Evans 8. Kingson Selvaraj 9. David Andrew 10. Stephen Lynch 11. Rhonda Centofanti. Current Councillors, Bruce Richardson and Vicki Beech, did not seek re election, with Trevor Chapple and Michelle Campbell resigning prior to the election.

Spring is coming! The August Council meeting on Tuesday night reflected this with confirmation of the Hayden Stoeckel Swimming Pool upgrade, approval for a mobile fish and chip van along our river and lake front and road closure notifications for upcoming events, Berri Resort Hotel Murray Man and Riverland Food and Wine Festival.

Waste Collection Service Disruptions

Transpacific have confirmed they are resuming bin collection services in our area and will continue to work over the weekend to clear the back log. Priorities will be domestic collections and the general waste or red bin with green waste or green bins to follow. Continue to leave your bins out for collection. Thank you for your ongoing patience and understanding.
