Family History

The Berri Library & Information Centre has a dedicated local history and genealogy room where you can spend time researching your family history.

Aside from our local history officer, there are a range of resources at your fingertips, including:

  • South Australian Births, Deaths and Marriages are available for keyword searching on computer, along with BDM’s from Queensland, Victoria and Tasmania.
  • Free access is also available to Ancestry.com, the world’s largest online family history resource.
  • We also have hard copies of local newspapers
  • A range of photos and local documentation for our district is also contained in our collection.

You might also find some information in our cemetary listings, including war veterans in the Upper Garden of Memory

To find out more speak to our staff in Berri (08) 8595 2666 or Barmeraon (08) 8582 2872 or via bbc@bbc.sa.gov.au
