The Berri Barmera Council area plays host to numerous community groups who dedicate their time to providing many different services and events for the general public.

We use the online database SA Community to maintain our list of community organisations in the Berri Barmera Council.  

All community groups have the opportunity to list their details for a FREE entry in Connecting Up’s SAcommunity online directory.

If you are involved in an organisation, please search the directory to see if it is listed. You can check the details and click the Leave a correction button to provide updated details if necessary. If your organisation is not listed, please add it to the directory.

'Warning Signs of a Heart Attack' Presentation 25 May 2015

The Heart Foundation invite the public to a free community presentation on the 'Warning Signs of a Heart Attack'. Being held on Thursday 11th June 2015 from 2pm-3pm at the Berri Resort Hotel. Guest speaker is the Heart Foundation SA Chief Executive. Bookings essential.

A busy weekend of events in the Riverland 12 May 2015

We have a busy weekend coming up! This Saturday, Sunday and Monday sees the 28th Tennis Seniors SA Riverland Teams Carnival. On Sunday, the Riverland RSPCA Million Paws walk will be on again this year at Martins' Bend, Berri as well as The Riverland 2015 Mega May Auction at the Riverland Field Day Site.

Consultation for a nature-based tourism strategy for South Australia 4 May 2015

Destination Riverland have been given an opportunity to host a workshop in the Riverland to have input to the development of a new nature-based tourism strategy for South Australia. The workshop will be held at Banrock Station from 1pm -4pm on Tuesday May 12th. The Riverland has a magnificent river, national parks and several conservation reserves on the river and in the Mallee, two RAMSAR Wetlands of international importance, a UNESCO Biosphere and Gluepot Reserve. The government is keen to hear our ideas about tourism based development in these areas that can create employment through inspirational visitor experiences.

2015 Heart Week Walk 30 April 2015

Join the Riverland Heart Foundation Walking Groups for a 2015 'Heart Week' Walk at the Lake Bonney Foreshore (opposite the Barmera Monash Football Club) on Friday the 8th May beginning 8:30am.Various size walks planned for participants, all walking abilities will be catered for. Lunch at the Barmera Monash Football Club to follow.
