Barmera Library Free Computer Lessons 14 October 2014
Like them, love them or not, the internet, computers, laptops, tablets are all very much a part of our daily lives! Thanks to the generosity of our great volunteers, Barmera Library is able to offer computer and IPad lessons on Tuesday and Wednesdays to make these first steps towards better computer skills and knowledge an easy painless and fun experience!
Bluebird 50th Anniversary Celebrations 7 October 2014
November 23rd, 2014, will mark the 50th anniversary of when Donald Campbell CBE set an Australian water speed record in Bluebird K7 on Lake Bonney, at Barmera in South Australia's Riverland, whilst attempting to set a new World Record.
On the weekend of November 22nd & 23rd, 2014, a full program of fun and festivities are planned, to be held in Barmera. Tickets for the Saturday night Commemorative Dinner are now on sale. See event link for booking and price details. Events on Sunday will be gold coin donation
This week is Mental Health Week 14 October 2014
Open your Mind. What you do can make the difference.
Mental Health Week events are being held from 5 to 12 October and aim to improve community awareness and knowledge about mental health illness and reduce the stigma and discrimination associated with mental health problems.
There are a number of activities being undertaken in the Riverland, some of which are linked below.
SA State Youth Brass Summer Camp and Tour 2 October 2014
The South Australian State Youth Brass Summer Camp and Tour will take place on the 12th - 17th January 2015.
Riverland Health & Wellbeing Festival Renmark 2 October 2014
Tickets are now available for the Health & Wellbeing Festival - $5 per person if purchased on line prior to the 10th October or $10 on the day. Children under 15 can enter for free.

THE RIDE is an award winning and inspiring film about four courageous men who demonstrate what IS possible in life as they ditch their wheelchairs for a quad bike adventure and traverse the rugged terrain of their tragic past.
Riverland 000 Ball 1 October 2014
Tickets are now available at the Berri Club or via the online link for the '000 Riverland 2014 Ball' to be held on October 11th at the Berri Club.
This is a fundraising event with all proceeds going to Emergency Services. The dress code is Cocktail Dress and Mask.
Looking Towards the future: a program for exit grant properties 30 September 2014
Growing Solutions through the Berri-Barmera Local Action Planning Committee, are delivering a project which looks at identifying options for properties coming to the end of the moratorium, following receipt of an exit grant. The target audience is growers in the Berri-Barmera council area.
The first activity is a workshop being delivered in Berri on October 13 and Barmera on October 14
