Looking for a community Group?

The Berri Barmera Council area plays host to numerous community groups who dedicate their time to providing many different services and events for the general public.

We use the online database SA Community to maintain our list of community organisations in the Berri Barmera Council.  

All community groups have the opportunity to list their details for a FREE entry in Connecting Up’s SAcommunity online directory.

If you are involved in an organisation, please search the directory to see if it is listed. You can check the details and click the Leave a correction button to provide updated details if necessary. If your organisation is not listed, please add it to the directory.

The Chaffey Learning Exchange together with its partners are setting up co-learning hubs to support people studying online in an exciting learning space. Would you like someone to bounce ideas off? The first “Study Support” night is Monday 21 September from 7.00pm to 9.00pm at Flinders University Rural Clinic, Renmark.

Keep Australia Beautiful Week 24 August 2015

This week is Keep Australia Beautiful Week - Millions of pieces of litter are dropped across Australia each year. The theme for this week is “It’s Everyone’s Backyard” to encourage people to think twice before dropping their rubbish. Lets all do our bit to keep Australia Beautiful!

Relay for Life 25 August 2015

Relay For Life is a fun and moving overnight experience that raises vital funds for the Cancer Council’s research, prevention, information and support services. Organisers are now calling for team nominations for the event to be held 24th and 25th October.

Black Dog Riders 17 August 2015

The Black Dog Riders raise awareness of depression and suicide prevention. Black Dog Riders in every State and Territory depart in August to ride throughout regional Australia, culminating in a national meet up in Uluru in the Red Centre. There are two groups arriving in our region tomorrow. The SA contingent will be holding a FREE community breakfast from 8.00am on Tuesday 18 August at Berri Riverfront. The NSW contingent is holding a dinner at Lake Bonney Tourist Park at 6.00pm (cost $15.00 per head).

Where Can I Get Help?? 6 August 2015

The recent Riverland ICE Forum raised a number of questions on where locals could go for help, information or assistance with drugs and alcohol. They are also seeking feedback, via a quick survey, from the recent forum.

Award for Muslim & non-Muslim Understanding 5 August 2015

Applications are now open. These awards celebrate the efforts of individuals and organisations (with no religious affiliation), that have worked to improve the understanding between Muslims and non-Muslims in Australia. If you know someone/organisation that has made a significant contribution to improving relations, is an inspirational role model - then why not nominate them! Applications close 18 September.
