Expression of interest for caretaker at Monash Adventure Park17 May 2013
Expression of interest for caretaker at Monash Adventure Park
The Berri Barmera Council is calling for expressions of interest in the caretaker role at the Monash Adventure Park.
The township of Monash is located approximately 6km north-west of Berri on the Sturt Highway. One of the most iconic attractions for this town is the Monash Adventure Park which is well known for the playground and picnic areas that are provided for the enjoyment of visitors and locals.
The township of Monash is located centrally within the popular Riverland area and is situated on the Sturt Highway which provides significant exposure to travellers between Adelaide and the Eastern States.
The opportunities are as follows:
Role of the Caretaker:
• Ensure the facility is open to the public during the desired hours;
• Provide general maintenance/cleaning to the toilets, equipment and grounds; and
• Liaising with council on the management of the site.
Opportunities:
The caretaker position is not a paid position of council. Opportunities for the business operations at the Monash Adventure Park are to be considered as part of the submission. This includes the potential to utilise the recently upgraded kiosk on site.
Expressions of Interest are to be forwarded in writing to Berri Barmera Council and should include a brief description of your proposal for the position and details of any relevant experience. Any enquiries can be made to Gary Brinkworth, Manager of Environmental Services/Major Projects, or Dorothy Freer, Property Officer, on 8582 1922.
All Expressions of Interest are to be forwarded and marked ‘Confidential’ to Mr David Beaton, Chief Executive Officer, Berri Barmera Council, PO Box 229, Berri, SA, 5343 and received no later than 5.00pm on 14 June 2013.

Berri District Centre Car Parking3 September 2012
Berri Barmera Council has recently engaged an engineer to undertake a review of the car parking provided within the Berri Town Centre. The survey was undertaken to assess the usage of the existing car park situation and to identify any strategies that may be useful in helping to alleviate congestion within the town centre. This review has identified that although car parking is an issue, one of the major causes of congestion is the overstay of vehicles in timed car parks and the use of disabled car park spaces by unauthorised people.
In order to help combat this issue while further measures continue to be investigated, council will seek to enforce the timed zones as much as practicable. Please take note of the restrictions when parking to avoid receiving an expiation.
