Venues and Facilities

Berri Barmera Council has a range of facilities available for general use by residents and visitors alike. Our parks and gardens are generally available for casual use but larger groups may require a permit. 

The Council also has a variety of halls, parks and ovals suitable for most events and functions, from intimate weddings, barbecues, corporate functions and festivals.  If you wish to hold an event in the Berri Barmera region, please ensure will need to complete a Event Application Form (for internet explorer) Event Application (PDF) or Word version .  You will need to read the Terms and Conditions and Annexure

Barmera Recreation Centre

After renovations during 2013 and 2014 the Barmera Recreation Centre now consists of two seperate operations.

  • A sports stadium managed by Council and available for hire; and
  • A commercially operated physiotheraphy, fitness and wellness centre.

The stadium is unmanned and requires bookings for the use of the courts or meeting rooms. These may be hired, by community organisations and individuals (who hold suitable public liability insurance) to undertake group activities by contacting Council's Property Officer on 8582 1922. The facility is home to the Barmera Basketball and Netball clubs intertown teams and also has regular Social Netball, Soccer and Badminton groups hiring the facility to conduct training and competitions.

Off leash Dog Park

Located with in Colin Jennings Apex Park, Berri the off leash park allows residents the opportunity to let their dogs exercise in a more confined location. Entry and carparking is best accessed off Old Sturt Hwy. View location

Berri District Swimming Pool

The Berri District Memorial Pool was constucted in the early 1960's and is the home of the Berri Swimming Club. Renamed in 2008 after the olympic success of the local swimmer Hayden Stoeckel. The management of the facility is contracted to South Australian recreation and leisure company 'Casa Leisure'.

The facility consists of a recently refurbished 6 lane 50m main pool , plus a Learn to swim pool and toddler pool.
