Hard Waste Collection 2024

Berri Barmera Council's hard waste collection for 2024 is fast approaching with a confirmed commencement date of 6 May 2024 and an expected completion date of 10 May 2024.  (See brochure for more information)

Berri Barmera Council is providing a hard waste collection to residential properties within the small towns only, which include:

  • Cobdogla - residential street address only
  • Glossop - residential street address only
  • Loveday - residential street address only
  • Monash - residential street address only
  • Overland Corner (see below)
  • Winkie - 1 drop off point only

For a residential property to be eligible, they must be located within the township boundaries, which is defined as having a street address (not a rural address), with the exception of the following areas:

  • Overland Corner - residents of Old Coach Road, ONLY
  • Winkie residents ONLY  drop off next to the Winkie Hall - Saturday  4 May 2024 between 8.30am to 3.00pm - proof of residence will be required

Preparing for your collection

To prevent the township from looking untidy during this time, residents are required to place items for collection only between Monday 29 April and Sunday 5 May 2024.

Your total collection should not be more than two cubic metres.  Items must be no longer than 2 metres and must be able to be lifted by two people.  Hard waste exceeding these limits will not be collected.

All collections will be from an accessible kerbside position located outside the premises, close to the kerb line and clear of the road and footpath.  Please avoid parking in front of collection piles.

Excluded properties include, but are not limited to;

  • *Businesses
  • *Commercial premises
  • *Vacant land
  • *Industrial properties
  • *Schools, and
  • *Churches

Rural Residents (for towns listed above only)

Rural residents will be eligible for a single use voucher to the value of $50 for use at the Cleanaway Waste Transfer Station in Monash.

Vouchers will be available from 29 April 2024 and can be collected from the Council office located at 5 Riverview Drive Berri or Barmera Public Library located at 4 Barwell Ave Barmera . To obtain a voucher, a copy of your Council rates notice or a driver's licence is required to be shown as proof of residency within the Council area.

Residents can also call the main office on 8582 1922 to arrange for a voucher to be mailed out.

To be eligible for a voucher the property must be a residential property with an allocated rural address.

Please note, only one voucher per eligible property can be claimed and any charges above this amount will be at the cost of the resident.  You will have from 6 May 2024 until 31 May 2024 to use the voucher.
