About the Infrastructure, Assets and Works Committee

The Key functions of  the Infrastructure, Assets and Works Committee are to:

  • The consultation and ongoing review of overall long-term asset management strategies and related policies in accordance with legislation and good management practices.
  • The consultation and ongoing review of all Council’s Asset Management Plans (including Road Asset Management Program, Buildings Asset Management Plan, CMWS Asset Management Plan and Plant & Equipment Asset Management Plan), and any other Plan considered relevant.
  • The consultation and ongoing review of Council’s acquisitions made relevant to this Infrastructure & Assets Committee, and in accordance with Council’s Procurement Policy.
  • The consultation and ongoing review of the Council’s Roads Hierarchy Framework.
  • The consultation and ongoing review of current waste management strategies with a focus on efficiency and responsible waste management.
  • The ongoing review and monitoring of Council’s capital and operational budgets which are relative to the Infrastructure & Assets Committee.
  • Planning for the growth of Council’s infrastructure assets through demand management and infrastructure investment.
  • Managing risks associated with asset failures.
  • Sustainable use of physical resources.
  • Continuous improvement in asset management practices.
  • Determining the asset renewal gap.
  • The consultation and ongoing review of the Capital Works Program relevant to Infrastructure & Assets.
  • To formulate and deliver appropriate strategies in relation to its strategic property holdings.
  • To receive deputations and/or representations from interested parties, which may aid council, in determining its objectives, strategies and priorities.
  • To establish sub-committees and/or working parties to assist in carrying out the committee’s functions.
  • To consider any other matters referred to it by the council, other council committees and the Chief Executive  Officer.

Meets: (quarterly) on the First Tuesday of every third month, 6:00pm

Members:  Cr Trevor Scott (Chair), Mayor Ella  Winnall, Crs Bruce Richardson, Collis Marrett and Ian Schlein (with Cr Andrew Kassebaum as proxy)
