Community Event of the Year - Riverland Primary School's Music Festival

The Riverland Primary Schools’ Festival of Music management team worked tirelessly throughout the COVID-19 crisis of 2020 to provide the students from across the Riverland the opportunity to sing and perform.

The focus of the event was on the students, with the result being that there was no audience to hear the choirs sing.  17 schools from across the Riverland participated, with a total of 225 students involved, the majority being from Schools in the Berri/Barmera Council area.

At the Grand Final students were all separated into their school ‘teams', and further separated from other schools by distance, but together they sung in unison and in harmony.  The quality of the performance demonstrated the commitment of the individual Choir Teachers in the schools and their students working and practising in their school choirs and in isolation.

The most important thing about this event, unlike other sports events was that there was no losing team - everyone from every school came out a winner!
