Community Feedback - Berri CBD
Berri Barmera Council is calling for people and groups who work and live in the area to have their say and share ideas on the future of the former Alfreso’s CafĂ© which is situated on Vaughan Terrace, in the heart of Berri. An iconic building; it serves as one of the gateways to the town and is a well-known landmark and meeting point for locals and visitors alike.
The building, owned by Council, is currently under review with initial ideas including but not limited to; the transformation into a Community Hub, a Business Centre, or even reverting the area into a Civic Space - which would entail demolishing the building.
Council CEO Karyn Burton, says “We value and need the ideas of the residents who will be the main beneficiaries of this rejuvenation. Their thoughts will guide us in determining the best use of the space and area for all to enjoy. We urge you to bring your ideas to us in order to enable the Council to make the best decisions based on feedback, logistics and integration within the broader CBD revitalisation plan that is currently in development. We want our community to have legitimate input into its future as we work toward growing Berri as a great place to live and work in”.
