Play your Part - Our Playgrounds are starting to re-open
Council continues to respond to advice from the Chief Public Health Officer who has advised that it is okay to begin opening parks and playgrounds. Our staff have been busy disinfecting and updating signage so that we can commence opening these spaces for our community.
From Saturday 9th May 2020 the following playgrounds and parks will be open:
- Playspace, Barmera
- Monash Adventure Park, Monash
- Riverfront, Berri
- Sandford Park, Berri
- Skate park, Barmera
However, all other playgrounds (not listed above) and outdoor exercise gym equipment will remain closed for the moment. Our staff will be progressively working on these other playgrounds and we will provide updates as and when they re-open.
Dog parks and open space parks remain open.
These playgrounds and parks have been reopened on the basis that our community continues to play their part in slowing the spread of COVID-19. Therefore, we ask that you continue to play your part while enjoying our facilities by;
- Social distancing by keeping 1.5metre from others
- Size of gatherings should be 10 or less at any one time
- Remember to use hand washing, sanitiser and other hygiene practices.
- If you are unwell, get tested and stay home.
SA Health have advised that the chance of equipment that is accessible to everyone in parks and playgrounds being contaminated is very low and can be controlled with everyone taking responsibility for practicing distancing and hygiene practices.
Council will continue to undertake advise from SA Health and will keep our community informed of any further developments.
Should you feel that these guidelines are not being met, please contact the police.
We thank you for your co-operation. By everyone working together, we are all contributing to the fight against COVID-19.
