Disability Access and Inclusion Plan

The Berri Barmera, Loxton Waikerie and Renmark Paringa Councils’ Disability Access and Inclusion Plan 2026-2030 reflects a shared commitment to building a more inclusive and accessible Riverland for everyone.

The plan provides a clear and practical framework to guide planning, service delivery and decision-making over the next four years.
Across our region, Council recognises that people living with disability bring valuable perspectives, skills and contributions to our communities. It is our responsibility to ensure that barriers – whether physical, social or systemic - are identified and addressed so that all people can participate fully in community life.

Under the Disability Inclusion Act 2018, all state and local government authorities are required to create and implement their own Disability Access and Inclusion Plans (DAIPs) reporting on them annually and reviewing them every four years.

Key Documents

Endorsed by the three Riverland councils in June 2026, the following documents are now officially in place, ready to guide the councils on improvements to accessibility and inclusion across the region over the next four years.

The Riverland Councils have developed a simplified version of the Plan to complement the full document. Council staff will also be undertaking formal Easy Read training in the near future to support the development of an Easy Read version of the Plan, along with other key council management documents.
