Cemetery Information

Burial and Cremation Leases are for a term of 99 years.

No specific plot can be allocated - the next available plot is allocated at the time of interment. The exception to this is a plot can be reserved at the time of an interment alongside the deceased (Conditions apply).

Council has a number of vaults currently available in the newly developed lawn section at the Berri Cemetery.

The Berri and Barmera Cemeteries offer lawn sections for interments, niche walls (Berri only) and garden areas for cremation interments.

Overland Corner has a limited number of sites available, these are the traditional older style burials.

No shrubs or flowers are to be planted in the cemeteries.  Flowers, containers or other objects are not to be placed on the lawn, except for wreaths and flowers placed on a grave at the time of burial and will remain in position until wilted, at which time council employees will remove them.

Flowers placed in receptacles (no glass) must be located on the concrete beam and shall remain in position until wilted, at which time Council employees will remove them.

Ornaments are only to be secured to a monument with the approval of the Curator.

All monumental work must be approved by the Curator, this includes new monuments, alterations and removals. Application for Memorial forms can be obtained from the council office by telephoning  8582 1922.
