Young Citizen of the Year Kiana Rundell
Kiana has been involved with the Riverland Musical Society (RMS) since age five, participating in RMS and Young RMS productions every year for more than a decade. In 2025, she stepped off the stage into the demanding volunteer role of movement director for the society’s major production Come From Away.
Over six months of rehearsals, Kiana taught the adult cast the show’s professional choreography and movement sequences. The production was performed to more than 1,000 patrons, received glowing reviews and helped raise funds and awareness for the Royal Flying Doctor Service. Kiana has also performed with Riverland Youth Theatre, Fit to Fly Circus and the Riverland Primary School Music Festival, including three years as a soloist.
Beyond the arts, Kiana is an active youth volunteer. During the school term she serves with the kids ministry team at Riverland Central Church and in school holidays volunteers as a junior camp leader with Blueprint Ministries. Prior to her medical diagnosis, Kiana was a Rosie Clark Dancer for 12 years and volunteered as a demonstrator for younger classes.
