Asset Management Plans
Berri Barmera Council is responsible for managing a wide range of community assets, with a total value of approximately $183 million (as at 30 June 2024).
These assets include our roads, footpaths, stormwater systems, buildings, community wastewater management systems (CWMS), and plant and equipment, critical infrastructure that supports daily life, safety and community wellbeing.
It is a requirement under the Local Government Act that Council develop and adopt Infrastructure and Asset Management Plans covering a period of 10 years for its major asset categories.
These plans are directly linked to Council’s Long Term Financial Plan (LTFP) whereby the LTFP reflects the optimal level of proposed asset maintenance, renewal and replacement necessary to achieve the desired service levels as well as minimising unnecessary asset costs to ratepayers.
