Riverview Drive, Berri

Riverview Drive suffered damage to an already substandard road in places during the 2022/2023 flood event with one lane being used as a base for the earthen levee that started on the western end near Clarke Road through to Martin Bend.

Once flood waters receded Council removed the earthen levee to reveal the extent of the damage was considerable. Council met with the immediate residence along this section of road and options were put up by all who attended.

A engineer was engaged to survey and assist in costing the road. The 3 options had been estimated from the initial engineer data, enabling funding sources to be explored. Councils project officer has completed conceptual overlays for the project giving Council a firmer cost estimate summary. Council now having more funding options available along with co contributions set aside they now feel confident in moving forward to the tender process.

Tender documents have been produced outlining the scope of works on all 3 options and are awaiting assessment. Once a successful tender has been achieved the contractor will be engaged and the project “Riverview Drive” will commence.

Council estimates a start date within the New Year.
